What's "Authentic" Montessori?
The word “Montessori” is not trademarked or copyrighted, so any school, curriculum, toy or manipulative can use it without providing anything even closely related to authentic Montessori pedagogy. Look for a curriculum that:

- includes all subject areas,
- facilitates creation of a beautifully prepared environment,
- instructs in Montessori lesson presentation,
- encourages self-directed learning,
- emphasizes independence,
- is easily tailored to each child while facilitating multi-age studies,
- uncomplicated lesson plans,
- scripted presentation instructions, and
- ongoing support.
